Life Safety issues and the Code
The current standards and codes for life safety requirements for each
occupancy type within a specific jurisdiction involve a methodic evaluation
of both state requirements and local ordinances. Investigation sometimes
necessitates coordination between building owners and Authorities
Having Jurisdiction to provide life safety solutions which meets regulation
and can be economically installed and maintained. For 17 years D K
Consulting has been involved with Life Safety Systems and building
issues that precipitate sometimes more or sometimes less stringent
requirements.
Coordination with the AHJ at a early stage of design and development
will often foster a relationship that provide compromise rather then
conflict when negotiating specific issues which may not be crystal
clear within the text of the code. We implement requirements of California
Building, Electrical, and Fire Codes along with the applicable national
codes and standards that apply to low voltage systems, fire alarm,
and life safety. Maintaining focus on education and review of updated
codes in Fire Protection Engineering Technology for Fire Alarm Systems
assures the prospective client that he is provided with current compliance
and up to date design and code evaluation.
